What is Brief Coaching?
Coaching that’s both BRIEF in time and tight to BRIEF!
Brief coaching is a highly effective, quick and manageable way to process and solve a range of health issues and challenges, broken down into small, achievable, sustainable actions.
Health coaching has a broader remit, taking a more holistic approach, and usually takes place over a longer period of time.
So for example, health goals such as ‘lose weight’, ‘get fitter’, ‘feel less tired’ require a deeper assessment and a number of SMART objectives, attained over a number of months or even years, to achieve success. Many of my long term clients book a monthly check in with me, to help them keep on track, ask questions, or use me as a ‘critical friend’ or agony aunt!
Goals such as ‘control evening snacking’, ’embed a strength training programme into my week’ or ‘implement a night-time sleep hygiene routine’ are often achievable in two or three brief coaching sessions. Additional ‘accountability’ sessions can then be added on if needs be, to embed and sustain the behaviour.

Health and Brief Coaching sessions can take place in Sarah’s Chorlton studio, via Zoom, or by arrangement, at a clients workplace, home or local green space. Because of the often sensitive nature of health coaching, Sarah offers a fully confidential and private service, in line with Royal Society of Public Health’s coaching ethics.
